Keep screens responsive while data is being updated
Also listed as: Snapshot isolation level in databases
What is it?
Xelence will support snapshot isolation in its databases. This setting lets people read data while others are updating it, without either having to wait for the other.
Why does it matter?
When many staff, reports and background jobs use the same records at once, they can block each other and cause slow screens or occasional errors.
Fewer waits and slowdowns at busy times, for staff and the constituents they serve.
Getting it into your solution
- Needs an upgrade to the Xelence release
- Needs implementation work
Start thinking about
- Do staff see slowdowns or timeouts at busy periods today?
- Does your database team need to review or approve database setting changes?
- When would a move to Xelence 10.0 fit your release calendar?
