Keep screens responsive under heavy load
Also listed as: Asynchronous architecture
What is it?
Xelence will move to an asynchronous design throughout, including the business-logic APIs on its application server. Long-running steps will happen in the background, and screens will use modern web requests to update without waiting on them.
Why does it matter?
When a screen has to wait for every step to finish, busy periods can leave staff and constituents watching a loading screen.
More responsive screens and higher throughput as usage grows.
Getting it into your solution
- Needs an upgrade to the Xelence release
Start thinking about
- Which screens or tasks feel slowest at your peak times?
- Do you have custom code that would need testing against the new design?
- When would a move to Xelence 10.0 fit your release calendar?
